Conversations with my mother

Al Riwaq Art Space

My mother lives with Alzheimer’s disease. Her memory is fragmenting, her recollections slipping away, her sense of orientation fading. I wanted to record her voice, to preserve a trace of those moments when something is still said—simply—through exchange.

From that recording, I created a very short film that blends archival footage, drawings, and animation.

It was not an attempt to go back in time, but rather a way to be with her, where she is now—within her own way of remembering, feeling, and being present.
